Hi, I’m Tom

I’m a Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation consultant. Computers and electronics have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. While I’m not deeply specialized in any one niche, I quickly learn the context and general workings of different technologies. I like to think of myself as a technology generalist.

Based in beautiful Belgium, but frequently traveling for work and leisure.

Current role

I am the Lead WMS consultant for Seidor UK & Ireland, implementing Produmex WMS at customer sites across the UK and Ireland. Occasionally, I work with clients in mainland Europe and the US on a freelance basis.

One of my hobbies, smart home automation, spiraled a bit, leading me to become an electrician and Loxone Smart Home Silver Partner. Time for this side of the business is limited, but my own house is beautifully automated.

Previous roles

Over the years, I’ve worn several hats:

• I’ve been a Project Manager, and am glad I have moved on
• I worked on Magento (now Adobe Commerce) eCommerce sites
• Have worked on several IT infrastructure projects, mostly focusing on virtualisation with VMWare before Broadcom entered the picture

Tech interests

• I run a small homelab, consisting of a Proxmox server with different virtual machines to serve local development needs.
• Smart home automation, using Loxone, and energy management in general. I want every roof surface I have covered in solar panels eventually.

Offline interests

• I enjoy cooking, though there’s room for improvement.
• Running helps clear my head after long days. Completed my first marathon in Bruges in 2024, and the ultimate goal is to achieve a Boston Qualifier time.
• Every year I try to fit a snowboarding trip in, usually in the French or Italian alps.
